My grandmother used to relate this story of Shumbho and Nishumbho, two demon brothers who had the power to defeat all men and Gods. I have forgotten most of the story but what I remember was that their power did not work against women, thus they succumbed to the Devi. Who ended their misdeeds The story had many twists, turns and more characters whom I have lost with time. In the days of hashtagmetoohashtag and hashtagwetoohashtag , I wish it was as easy as that. And the ev il succumbed just like that. As pitripokhkho merged into debipokhkho it's strange that I remembered this tale related by the lady who made the strongest impact on my life with her sense of right and wrong and a sharp tongue. Devi and Devi(l) both will co- exist, in reality and in metaphor. And in many ways there won't be lores if all was well.
