of summers and grasshoppers :)

I suddenly remembered this poem ..from my class 5 poem book "In Poem Town ".... GRASSHOPPER GREEN Grasshopper Green is a comical chap; He lives on the best of fare. Bright little trousers, jacket and cap, These are his summer wear. Out in the meadow he loves to go, Playing away in the sun; Its hopperty, skipperty, high and low— Summer's the time for fun. [68] Grasshopper Green has a dozen wee boys, And soon as their legs grow strong Each of them joins in his frolicsome joys, Singing his merry song. Under the hedge in a happy row Soon as the day has begun Its hopperty, skipperty, high and low— Summer's the time for fun. Grasshopper Green has a quaint little house. It's under the hedge so gay. Grandmother Spider, as still as a mouse, Watches him over the way. Gladly he 's calling the children, I know, Out in the beautiful sun; It's hopperty, skipperty, high and low— Summer's the time for fun.

Ilaboti

It's been a while that I have blogged -suddenly life's busy - what with trying to meet an elastic deadline, going back to work full time and joining the "power yoga " classes! Missing my idleness at times ! And missing those times when we used to go on a vacation as a family ! I met Ilabati on one of those holidays at Gorumara - She was an abandoned calf , the herd left her behind because she came in contact with human beings! She was all of 3or 4 months , cute and cuddly with a big teeka on the forehead to ward off the evil eye! The few days that I spent there Ilabati became quite attached to me and it became a ritual that I would go around to pet her and she would nuzzle close to me. It was a matter of routine till one day Chibu decided to accompany me and stood close as I petted the little  calf ! I don't know what happened , but the sight of Chibu made Ilabati so jealous - her eyes grew large and she shook her head and was just like a possessive baby w
