hello young lovers !

Jimbo and Chris....adolescent memories of a romance that I followed through each issue of Sportsweek...:) Of course they were champions..but they were also in love and danced at the Wimbledon Ball to "Hello young Lovers "!  I still have Jimmy C's poster inside my cupboard at my parent's place and I still have the scrapbook with their pictures somewhere in the study table drawer....  The Fairy tale ending never happened and they both went their own way!.......... But they remain a memory that makes me feel like  young girl once again!  Makes me want to fall in love all over again :))))) !

almost here ....love this feeling !

Pujo is almost here ...though the sky is still grey and the days alternate between rains and sultry humidity , but it was nice to wake up to the sparrows chirping in the garden ....one of the few things I like about this house!  I still look out for the blue sky with tufts of clouds that always remind me that yet another pujo is here ! Kassh phool is long missing !! L uckily I will be back home before the revelry begins...though I will definitely miss the  Mahalaya being recited , thanks to the neighbor's TV...and the first sound of Dhak reverberating through the building at Mainak! 35 years of memories !  ....And this may be the last Pujo at Mainak !!  Like Scarlett  I will think about it tomorrow !

How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand ?

Triloks' post of "Something Good" opened up a floodgate of memories.Of going to Globe with Baba to watch "The Sound of Music" for the first time , and being enamored more with the will -o- the- wisp Maria than Capt Von Trapp ! I read the book much later and realized that the movie was just a romanticized version of the first few chapters ! But who cared really? That was probably my first brush with mush ! Of the 16 kind and the 60's kind - and I loved it !  Movies were so magical then ! It  was always a special occasion , to dress up and go for a cinema ! Have dinner later and come back with a happy feeling! The advantage of not having technology at the fingertips !  The inexplicable feeling of catching the breath ...the mooning over.....umm just nothing ..of being silly and crying for no reason ......Sometimes I wonder do you really  hold the moonbeams in your hand ?

Vakratundamahakaya !

My spiritual cola these days ! The serene voice of Jagjit Singh and ode to my favorite god !
