Waiting !!!

Waiting always has different perspective- waiting at the station, waiting at the airport, waiting for arrival and departure .... Today's' waiting was different, I wanted to meet Mukut after his examination - It's a strange feeling waiting among parents who were eagerly waiting for their wards , with the question on their lips "Kire, kemon holo?" I haven't done this in a long long time...Chibu was never the sort who encouraged me to accompany him to the exam halls , or pick him up ! In fact,  when he appeared for his class 10th I had almost begged him to take me on the first day ....He told me very disdainfully that I would be lost there. His logic- " Onno maa'ra aar like Kaun Banega Karorepati...they can choose from 4 answers! Aar koyek jon Mastermind...they know the right answer!...Aar tumi shekhane ki korbe?' ..Waiting for him on that day midst the other mothers ,I felt like an imbecile...I really did not know a thing!!! Anyway, to cut a lon

The rains

The wind on my face The rain splattered roads Hurrying back  To the safety of my home.... What a change after  the Day's scorch... Wish life was like that... Pleasantly rewarding  A fter each fall!

Summer blues

Summer makes me sluggish and tired- my old bones feel heavy and feet drag and I find the simplest task tiresome! For me no Summer wine, Summer kisses or Summer Loving :((( ! I spend the day under the fan, the air-con on and a supply of bottles of cold water handy! I admire the people who find the energy to do so many things in summer- gym, walk, run! Uff !I wish summer would go away in a jiffy and I am myself again!

Chibu's Story

I found this story in an old CD full of my notes and reading materials .Chibu probably typed this in my laptop, before he had his own! The story is probably 2 years old...but it makes good reading post midnight..... Lock, Stock and a Smoking Barrel The moonlight flitted though the clouds, casting a silvery hue on the rooftop of the dark building. The shadow of the tall oak tree in the garden fell across the old wooden door. A gentle breeze sifted amongst the dried leaves blowing them across the overgrown garden path. All of this witnessed with awe and fear by a group of three boys standing by the old broken down garden gate. Sam, Draco and Fredrick were in their final years in college and were known for their spunk. So, they had taken up the challenge thrown out by a fellow student of spending a night at this old building around which many a ghost story has been woven. As they looked at the building in the dim moonlight they all felt some of that spunk ebb away being replace

Meeting Honu -Singh Daktar

Why I don't know ,but the Dentist's chair always reminds me of the Electric Chair! The last time I was there was to extract a Molar- my first!  Somehow the anesthesia had numbed my senses and when the finality was over ,  there was the Dentist holding an obnoxious looking , blood smeared tooth , asking me if I would like to keep it as a relic!!! Sayo suggested that I make it into a talisman and hang it around Bhaskar's neck! Ahh...just imagine!  Well this time around it was no better, as I was lulled into a false sense off security, told in a comforting voice that it's just going to be pin prick to take out the puss in my gums- and just as I was relaxing came the blinding jab that almost made my head split- eyes burst into tears, and if my mouth was not stuffed with wads of cotton pads I probably would have brought the hospital roof down! My first thought when the pain in my head subsided was that I will miss the Biriyani at Sabi's wedding and Omg ! what a sight I
