Of tins and trunks

Does anyone remember them?   Our birthdays meant a gift or two of of these, and how we loved them.  Going back to the days of tins and trunks, took me back to Benaras and my grand parents' bungalow at the cantonment. Didi had a regular visit from Kallu baker , who came with his wares on a bicycle and carried mini trunks that stored the goodies. When he opened them the aroma wafted through the air - of mutton patties that he arranged in neat rows -ready to be feasted. The next one had these small square pastries - with white icing and pink flowers. They tasted delectable.  So much of my childhood memories are captured in these tins and boxes- faded like those pictures, but still brings back that smile through all the rust and stain !
