Umpun

I have never seen a disaster like this. Never felt so scared inside my own house.  I remember long ago waking up to my bed shaking. Ran to my parents bedroom.  My mother very calmly had said, Bhoomikompo hochche. Shiggiri mosharir niche esho.  I wonder what she would have said to the day before's myhem.  In our house Bhaskar foresees, me and Chibu learn on hindsight. Bhaskar had tied the windows, cleared the balcony, stored water, kept candles ready. When the windows were being hammered he drew the curtains so that shrads of glass doesn't splinter on us. And when the entire house was being battered he found the safest place. Chibu's bathroom. Right in the middle, and landlocked.  It seemed endless, hammering, pools of water, sounds of breaking.  And we gave up. Let go!  A voice of wisdom said, Chibu, shob mone hoye shesh hoye jabe, ektu whiskey dhal to!  And in that pitch darkness father and son settles down with their glasses!  And I prop my...

The moon

The lake

In another life I lived in a house by this lake.  And watch the light play and colors change.  In another life I would walk around, Hear the chants and temple bell tinkle.  Do I miss that life?  I do.  And if ever I can I would live one more time In that 🏠house  And walk free again.

The rainbow

Hope A sign Or  Just vibgyor The sky never disappoints!  And it was a balmy evening.  And the light looked magical.  Maybe this is the end.  Maybe this is the beginning.  Who can tell?

Midnight tales.

The moon played hide n seek and the pigeon is back. It has an uncanny knack of knowing when it won't be shooed.

Chand ne kuch kaha?

It's two days after.  The moon is back to white On a silent night.  How the world has changed Within a few days.  That's the uncertainty of life Can be cut into pieces without a knife!  - Desh me nikla hoga chand!  - Aur aapke wahan?  -Yahan ka chand waisa kaha? Chandni to udhar, chand akela!!!!

Lights shine bright!

I suddenly remembered my condo in Bangkok. On a high rise, where from my bed I could see the lights shimmer. I always felt sad when I had to leave it. It all seems to be a different world. A different time. And I feel like an outsider, watching a movie unfold. Unpredictable, unknown and uncertain. We have never seen times like this. And we take so much for granted. When we come out of this probably it will be a lesson for the rest of our lives. May be we shall learn to actually be human(e). And the lights are much brighter these days. Maybe they are shining at the end of the tunnel. This too shall pass!
